A necessity to make cities safer and more attractive, lighting represents more than one third of electricity consumption for cities. Bouygues Energies & Services accompanies cities in the long term for a significant reduction (up to 42%) of their energy bill related to public lighting, lighting local heritage facilities and stop lights.

Bouygues Energies & Services, as it controls the entire value stream (from design to use) and has a large array of solutions (public lighting, lighting facilities and services in cities), can act on all variables to propose fair and sustainable lighting in cities.

Higher performing lighting

Bouygues Energies & Services has an integrated department of dedicated experts to give customised lighting services for:

  • Carrying out a lighting diagnostic and designing optimal solutions for each space: city centres, pedestrian zones, residential neighbourhoods, etc.;
  • Proposing tried and tested and innovative technologies. Bouygues Energies & Services has a Purchasing Department dedicated to public lighting and which carries out international technological awareness;
  • Bringing intelligence to networks (motion sensors), supervising them (point by point surveillance, on call 24/7, consumption monitoring) and optimising them (shared networks for public lighting to bring other services to the city).

A partner for your lighting needs

Convinced of the benefits of a long term approach on energy concerns, Bouygues Energies & Services was a pioneer in PFI in England and Public-Private Partnership Contracts in France. It is one of Europe’s leading companies in this contractual approach which establishes a true stakeholder relationship with the community.
For the community, this guarantees:

  • A pre-determined budget with equal payments over a period of time;
  • A massive renewal of the public lighting park in the first few years of the contract;
  • Contractual commitments in energy consumption;
  • Bargaining power given by the Bouygues Construction Group, in particular for purchasing;
  • Use with optimised maintenance of facilities during the length of the contract.

Cleaner lighting

Bouygues Energies & Services is working in several ways to reduce the environmental impact of lighting:

  • Promoting the production of renewable energies: solar farms, geothermics, etc.;
  • Integrating preservation of the biodiversity into the conception of public lighting in partnership with Noé Conservation (french association);
  • Carrying out carbon offsetting actions for its customers;
  • Rethinking production modes (use of electric vehicles and nacelles, using techniques which lead to less waste volume, etc.);
  • Using innovative processes to reduce noise nuisance to inhabitants and the neighbouring population.
